Al started in broadcasting over 40 years ago. He was educated at the University of Wyoming and is a certified public accountant. He built KUGR-AM in 1976 and since then the radio network.
Al has been the past president of the Wyoming association of broadcasters, served 8 years on the board of directors of the national association of broadcasters and served on their investment committee and the executive committee. He has also served on numerous boards and commissions including the chair of the joint powers water board, co-founder of flaming gorge days Inc. , board member of the Colorado river water users association, memorial hospital foundation board, and the GRFD foundation Board, the Wyoming state library board. He also had a thirty year career with the green river volunteer fire department, retiring in 2008 as the fire prevention chief.
Al has received numerous awards and recognitions including the green river distinguished citizen award, the key to the city, outstanding young man in America, and who’s who in the west. He has also received a number of broadcasting awards over the Years and was inducted into the broadcasting hall of fame in 2009.
Al and faith have been doing their show since the mid ninety’s and al says he has the greatest job in the world. He loves what he does and also enjoys some travel and cooking, indoors and out. He has three children, four grandsons and a grandchild on the way.
