Redistricting Boundaries

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Redistricting boundaries of Wyoming's eastern third remain undecided in the latest tentative plan approved by a legislative panel. The Casper Star-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/oCIsqg ) that the 13-member Joint Corporations, Election and Political Subdivisions Committee approved a draft plan Friday for most of the state. Significant changes include Dubois and Jeffery City in the same legislative district and a new district almost entirely within Jackson city limits.

City Council Meeting October 18th

The Green River City Council met for its second monthly meeting on Tuesday night , and once again the meeting began with several proclamations. Mayor Hank Castillon pronounced October Breast Cancer Awareness and Cowboys Against Cancer month. Both organizations had local representatives on hand for the meeting to give presentations on what they’d accomplished this year.

Millions on Drop Outs?

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A new report says Wyoming spends $4.3 million a year on first-year community college students who then drop out of school. The report out Thursday from the American Institutes of Research says that from 2004 to 2009, about $21 million in state appropriations and grants were spent on community college students who dropped out after their first year.
