Laramie, WY (AP):  Homecoming weekend festivities begin at the University of Wyoming on Thursday.  This year's homecoming theme is "Wanted:  Cowboys of the West".  Activities will include a speech by former Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev, a dance, a pig roast, a parade and football game.

Thursday's events include a speech by Gov. Matt Mead at the Keith and Thyra Thomson Honors Convocation in the College of Arts and Sciences auditorium and a 1980s-themed homecoming dance at Wyoming Union Ballroom.

Gorbachev's appearance in the Arena-Auditorium highlights Friday's activities.  It is free and open to the public.  Saturday is the parade and football game between Wyoming and UNLV.
