June Commission Meeting
Among the items on the afternoon agenda for the commissioners was the current maintenance arrangement at the County Jail. Chairman Wally Johnson expressed concern over the sub-par state of the landscaping aroundthe jail facility. Sheriff Haskell explained that the soil around the building was not of the greatest quality, making maintaining the grass and trees more difficult than at other locations. Haskell also explained that the majority of the work done at the facility cannot be done by outside sources for both budget and security reasons. Issues with tool control has made inmate labor for landscaping difficult as well. Several commissioners did compliment the facilities interior for its cleanliness , which Haskell attributes to inmate labor.
