Green River City Employees Get Raise Across The Board
A bit of a pleasant surprise for the majority of City workers at last nights city council meeting, a 2% pay increase across the board.....sorta. The council voted 4-2 to give a raise to All full time, regular part-time , and part time employees, with contract employees and seasonal highers not seeing any change. The decision was an amendment to a resolution to amend the city's personnel manual, and the way in which performance evaluations are given for the previous year and into the future. Councilman Gary Kilpack, said it was unfair to the employees to have not been notified at the beginning of the year what requirements they must meet in order to receive performance based raises.
City administrator Marty Black explained that currently some employees had gone two years with out an evaluation while other department heads did evaluations twice a year. The once a year evaluations will move forward, but the performance based raises will not start until next year.
