Financial Manager of Riverton Companies Sentenced to Ten Years
The former financial manager of 2 Riverton companies has been sentenced to six to 10 years behind bars for stealing from his employers. A judge also ordered Gerald Emil Anderson to pay $1.5 million in restitution.
Anderson had been accused of embezzling more than $2.5 million from 2000 through 2010 from Star-Tech Inc. and Precision Analysis. He entered Alford pleas Wednesday to two felony counts of larceny by bailee. Under an Alford plea, a defendant acknowledges that prosecutors likely have enough evidence for conviction, without actually pleading guilty. Anderson's attorney, Jeff Stanbury, says Anderson still faces federal proceedings regarding tax liability.
