Cowboys Defeat UNLV

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Brett Smith passed for two touchdowns and caught a pass for another to lead Wyoming past UNLV 41-14 on Saturday. The victory, in the Mountain West Conference opener for both teams, snapped a two-game losing streak for Wyoming (4-2, 1-0). It was Wyoming's fourth consecutive home-game victory against the Rebels. Smith completed 10 of 19 passes for 96 yards and rushed 10 times for 59 yards. Chris McNeill added a 76-yard score on a punt return, making up for a fumbled punt earlier in the game.

Bridger Valley Game

The Mountain View Buffalos look to rebound after a tough loss to their rivals, the Lyman Eagles. Mountain View will travel to Thermopolis to take on the two time defending 2A champion Bobcats.

This game has major playoff implications as the loser will not be headed to the post-season. If Mountain View wins, they will still need a win over Kemmerer in the final week of the season to make the trip to November football.

(AP) - Chuckie Keeton threw five touchdown passes and Michael Smith ran for two more scores as Utah State cruised past Wyoming 63-19 on Saturday night. Robert Turbin also ran for 109 yards, his fourth-consecutive 100-plus-yard game for the Aggies (2-3). Turbin scored a TD on the ground and caught a 19-yard Keeton pass for a score, becoming the Aggies' fourth all-time leading career scorer.
