City Council Meeting

The Green River City Council met once again this week, and it was  a meeting chalk full of proclamations.  October was proclaimed National Disability Employment Awareness month  by Mayor Hank Castillon.  In partnership with many Wyoming businesses and organizations, the programs purpose is to make citizens with disabilities aware of their rights in the work place.

Obama to Step Up Power Line Projects

Washington (AP) - The Obama administration wants to speed up the construction of seven proposed electric transmission lines in 12 states, as it moves to create jobs and modernize the nation's power grid.  The projects are intended to serve as pilot demonstrations of streamlined federal permitting and improved cooperation among federal, state and tribal governments.

UW to Open New Tennis Facility Monday

Laramie, WY (AP) - A new indoor tennis facility is set to open at the University of Wyoming on Monday.  The new facility has six indoor courts, up from two previously,  U-W officials say it's one of the best indoor tennis facilities in the region and will be available to the public.  Membership fees are $150 for adults, $100 for youths 18 and under, and $325 for families.
