Wyoming Looks for Royalty Share

Wyoming is looking to get its fair share of royalty payments on natural gas that is burned off oil wells on state land. A public meeting in Casper on Monday will bring together staff of the Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission and the Office of State Lands and Investments to talk about the practice of flaring gas from oil wells.

17yr Old Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter

A 17-year-old Casper resident stood in court Thursday and admitted to inadvertently shooting his sleeping friend with a pistol they had stolen out of a car the previous night. The Billings Gazette reports that Matthew Dean Campbell pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and aggravated burglary. In exchange for the pleas, prosecutors agreed to seek no more than 15 years behind bars at Campbell's sentencing in coming weeks.

November City Council Meeting

It was cold outside Tuesday night but things heated up fast when it came time for public comment at this week’s meeting. Mike Lynch a green river resident of 33 years had a lot to say about the Tomahawk Building Renovation project.  Mr. Lynch asked how much money had been spent by the city on the project, he was asked to clarify if he meant Grant money or City funds. City Administrator Barry Cook gave the exact dollar amount which was around $298,000 to date.
